Tour Diaries: Chappell Roan

Los Angeles-based rising artist Chappell Roan packed the house in Columbus, Ohio for a sold-out night of dancing and fun.

Chappell Roan is making waves as an independent artist, with only a collection of singles released, the artist has sold out all 20 stops of their Naked in North America 2023 Tour. Each show has a different theme, Columbus, Ohio's being Rainbows & Rhinestones and boy did Chappell fans nail the theme. A glittering crowd packed A&R Music Bar from wall to wall and danced along with local Drag Queens: Anisa Love, Lola Vuitton, and Honey Stix. Chappell has had local Drag Queens open for her on each stop of the tour, making for even more iconic tour. The setlist included the majority of Chappell's discography, a handful of unreleased tracks, and a spectacular reduction of "You Outta Know" by Alanis Morissette. A vibrant and energetic performance from Chappell Roan made for an unforgettable night.

Chappell's music career began in 2017 when the artist signed with Atlantic and released an EP titled Good Nights. However, it wasn't until April 2020 with the release of "Pink Pony Club," that Chappell's soundscape and music identity really began to take shape. Having since parted ways with Atlantic, Chappell's music has fully embraced unabashed femininity, uncensored Gen-Z experiences, and glam-pop fun. As incredibly queer-positive artist, Chappell Roan and her shows have become a safe space for all to come and be themselves for the night.

Chappell Roan's most recent track, "Casual" which dropped October 28, 2022 describes the internal turmoil of whether or not a relationship is serious or causal. The unfiltered lyrics are hallmarks of Chappell's discography and we cannot express how much we love that. The music video for the track dropped March 9, 2023 and you can watch it here (its incredible).
