Starring Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd, the upcoming HBO Max series looks like a more volatile, more chaotic version of Euphoria, created by Sam Levinson.
Shortly after the Weeknd released a teaser video of the upcoming HBO Max show, The Idol, at his concert in New Jersey, the platform released the full-length trailer online.
The Idol was created by Euphoria creator, Sam Levinson, the Weekend, and Reza Hafim. It stars Abel Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp as a couple that gets trapped in the bling and chaos of Hollywood celebrity culture. In the trailer, the HBO Max series shows hints and undertones of Levinson's most popular creation to date, Euphoria. It shows a similar face with tension-filled scenes, sharp cuts, intriguing characters and a unique soundtrack to elevate the stakes even more. Not to mention, we do get a similar peek of sex, toxic relationships, and drugs that surround this exciting premise.
While there's no release date yet, you can see the trailer for "The Idol" below.
