Irving Plaza went back in time during Stephen Sanchez's NYC show.
Stephen Sanchez performed to a sold-out Irving Plaza this past week, bringing amazing energy as he built up anticipation for his entrance. Especially for those in the front who had been camping out as early as 8 am. Opening with songs from his first album and EP, with everyone singing along immediately, shows the dedication of this following from an early stage in his career. Everyone stood in awe as he began performing his newest release "Evangeline" and teasing some unreleased songs, leaving the crowd excited for what is to come.
Being able to pull off a perfect cover of the Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody" is something many find quite difficult to do, but Stephen managed to do it effortlessly toward the end of his set in New York.
Sanchez, the embodiment of the 50s, is bringing back those classic love songs, with his first song "Lady By The Sea" gathering much attention on social media, he soon followed with the release of "Until I Found You" in 2021, which instantly became a hit. Not only did it establish a signature sound, but it hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has amassed nearly 542 million streams on Spotify. Following the success of the song he released a version with Em Beihold which, itself, has reached over 266 million streams on Spotify.
You can still catch him on tour through April and next fall, something you don't want to miss out on.
