The 21-year-old singer and songwriter shows fans a “Different” side to himself in his latest single.
Joshua Bassett has been taking the pop music scene by storm and the 21-year-old doesn’t seem to have plans of slowing down anytime soon. Only a month ago he dropped his EP Sad Songs In A Hotel Room and since has been dropping new music like hot cakes.
In his latest single “Different”, Bassett talks about how seeing an old flame reignited something in him and maybe things can work out between them this time. This is something we’ve all experienced one time or another. We often think that taking time apart from someone we care about is what’s for the best and if it’s meant to be it’ll be. So when we see them for the first time in a long time it can feel like a sign, it can also take us back a bit by how easily those feelings can resurface.
There has been speculation by fans that this song is about Olivia Rodrigo. Whether this is true or not one thing is for sure, with each new single Bassett’s music becomes more and more deeply personal. “Different” is one of those tracks, it connects with you and reels you in and if his album is anything like this track, whenever it gets released it’ll be worth the listen.
